Fresh Start for Men’s Wrestling This Weekend at Southeast Open Tournament

SALEM, Va. – As the 2025 calendar flips to November, that means it's time for a brand-new season of Presbyterian College men's wrestling. The Blue Hose will begin their seventh season on Sunday morning, part of the Southeast Open (hosted by Virginia Tech).

Formerly known as the Hokie Open, this particular tournament has been an annual event since 2008 and regularly attracts the nation's best teams. All but one SoCon institution will be throwing their name into the brackets this weekend, with 40 teams entering altogether.

#10 Virginia Tech, #7 NC State, #20 West Virginia, and #23 North Carolina will all be part of the festivities this weekend. The tournament will get started at 9:00 AM.

The Blue Hose wrestled in just one regular-season tourney last year, the Mountaineer Invitational at Appalachian State where two PC entrees collected 2nd place.

2024-25 RECAP

- Head coach Mark Cody (the program's lone director since its creation in 2019) has one of his strongest rosters on paper for the upcoming year, a group of 33 individuals.

- Ravaged with injuries in a conference with plenty of parity, the Blue Hose were unable to achieve a SoCon win last season and ended with a 2-13 dual record.

- Four PC wrestlers who had at least one postseason victory have returned for another go: Brayden Adams (125), Ryan Luna (141), Joshua Roe (165), and Morvens Saint Jean (285).
