PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose recorded a strong opening round score of 278 (-10) to lead the 13-team tournament.

Delaware is currently in second place after a first-round score of 281 (-7) and Wright State and Jacksonville State are tied for third after an opening-round score of 283 (-5).
 
Notables

• Three Blue Hose are currently in the top ten. Jimmy McCollum is tied for fourth place after a first-round score of 68. Jack Wofford and Lleyton Renner are tied for eighth place with first-round scores of 69.
• McCollum tallied six birdies and eleven pars on his way to the score of 68 (-4).
• Wofford recorded an eagle on the 548-yard par 5 fourth hole. He collected three birdies and 12 pars on his opening round score of 69 (-3).
• Renner posted four birdies and 13 pars on his first round of score of 69 (-3).
• Thomas Hollingsworth is currently tied for 28th after an opening round score of 72 (even par). He recorded two birdies and 14 pars on his opening round.
