Shana Spann recently concluded her third season as the head coach of the PC Cheerleading team in 2020-21. She came to Clinton after serving as an assistant coach at Shorter University in Georgia.
Presbyterian returned to NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla., for the second time in program history in April of 2021. The Blue Hose earned a fifth-place finish in the Intermediate All-Girl Division I Finals.
Spann helped PC earn a Silver Paid Bid to the 2020 NCA College Nationals after competing at the NCA's Myrtle Beach camp in August of 2019. However, nationals were canceled in the spring of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2018-19, the program's inaugural competitive season, Spann led the PC squad to an eighth-place finish in the Intermediate All-Girl Division I competition at the NCA and NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Spann was a four-year cheerleader as a student, winning three national championships. The first two came at Shorter, and she won her third title after transferring to the University of West Georgia. After earning her bachelor's degree in business management, Spann returned to Shorter as a coach. While coaching there, she earned her master's in business management.
