Thad Palmer serves as the Director of Athletic Communications for Game Operations. He has been at Presbyterian College for 12 years, first starting with the Blue Hose as the head cross country coach and a sports information assistant during the summer of 2007.
Palmer’s responsibilities include being the primary contact for the men’s and women’s soccer teams, women’s golf team, women’s basketball team, and women’s lacrosse team. In addition to managing game operations for the Templeton Center, he serves as the secondary contact for Bailey Stadium. Palmer also oversees event staffing and student workers.
The native of Union, SC, worked primarily as the head men’s and women’s cross country coach for 11 seasons before moving into Athletic Communications full time in February of 2018. Under his guidance, the cross country teams transitioned from Division II to Division I, lowered school records at every distance, and garnered national accolades for APR and team GPA. Prior to coaching, he was a four-year letterwinner on the PC cross country team with an 8k personal best of 27:12.
Palmer graduated Cum Laude from PC with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and minor in accounting in 2007. Additionally, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia Southern with a master’s degree in sport management in the summer of 2018.
