JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Presbyterian College women's soccer opened up their 2007 season with the first of two games on the road, falling 4-2 against Jacksonville University on Friday evening.
Ashley Cook (Fort Mill, S.C.) sent home a Stefani Thacker (Fishers, Ind.) assist for the opening Blue Hose (0-1) goal at the 44:12 mark of the game, giving PC the 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Jacksonville (1-0) scored four goals, beginning with the first of two Keri Zwikker goals, this time being a penalty kick that knotted the game at one goal each.
Emme Graham and Sian Senior scored the two other Dolphins goals, to assume a 4-1 lead.
PC's Emily Davis (Greenville, S.C) netted the game's final goal with 1:45 remaining for the 4-2 final.
PC goalkeeper Erin Sinkuler (Roswell, Ga.) stopped seven Dolphins shots on goal.
Along with her goal, Cook took five shots to lead the team, including two shots on goal. Teammates Davis, who scored the second goal, along with Sheldon Robinson (Simpsonville, S.C.) and Kate Baker (Forsyth, Ga.) took three shots to pace the Blue Hose.
