CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College men's soccer team (2-10-0, 2-2-0 Big South) will travel to High Point, N.C., for a Wednesday night matchup against Big South Confrence foe High Point (4-7-2, 1-3-1). The Blue Hose will look to earn their 300th win in program history, as PC enters the match with a 299-272-49 all-time record dating back to 1977.
High Point comes into Wednesday's match with a 4-7-2 overall record and a 1-3-1 marker in Big South Conference play, a year after going 16-4-1 en route to a 8-0-0 conference record in 2010. The Panthers will look for their first win in four games after a tie against UNC Asheville (1-1) and consecutive shutout losses to Coastal Carolina (2-0) and Radford (1-0).
The two sides meet for the eighth time, each with a 3-3-1 record in the series. PC won the first three meetings from 1991 through 1993 before the series went on hiatus until 2007. Since then, the Blue Hose have gone 0-3-1, including a 5-1 loss in Clinton last year. The two meetings in 2008 and 2009 both went into double overtime.
Byron Quinatoa (Santo Domingo de los Colorados) leads the team with four goals and nine points while Ignacio Monchetti (Montevideo, Uruguay) leads the team in assists, with four. The team will aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss on the road to Liberty last Friday night.
After High Point, the Blue Hose return home to host Radford on Saturday night before traveling to Winthrop for a road contest on Wednesday night in its second-to-last road game of 2011.
