CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College men's soccer team wraps up a four-match road stretch on Tuesday night with a trip to Durham, N.C., to take on the Duke Blue Devils. PC enters the match coming off of a 3-1 loss to No. 25 Furman on Friday night, tying up the contest in the second half on Byron Quinatoa's first goal of the season.
Duke has compiled a 4-4-0 record on the year after winning its last three against Clemson (5-2), UNC Wilmington (4-1) and Wake Forest (4-1). PC and the Blue Devils have played one common opponent this season in Furman. Duke took the matchup by a 1-0 margin in its second game of the year. Andrew Wenger leads the team with 10 goals and three assists.
PC has played Duke only once, a contest in Durham in 2009. The Blue Devils topped the Blue Hose by a 6-0 score thanks in part to two goals from Andrew Wenger.PC aims for its first win of the year after falling in the team's first seven matches. The Paladins ended up with a 3-1 win, but the result comes days after the Blue Hose battled against another top-tier team in NC State and held the Wolfpack to one first half goal.
Quinatoa tied Luke Ade for the team lead in goals, with one. Ignacio Monchetti picked up his first collegiate point with an assist on Ade's goal against Erskine and Jonny Mercado assisted on Quinatoa's score against Furman. Byron Quinatoa leads the team in total shots (20) and shots on goal (seven).
