Men's Soccer Narrowly Falls at No. 14 NC State

Raleigh, N.C. – The Presbyterian College men's soccer team (0-3) fell to No. 14 NC State (3-0) on Friday night by a score of 2-0 at Dail Soccer Stadium. Sergio Pinto led the charge for the Blue Hose with four shots, while Jan Hoffelner made a season-best five saves.

 

How It Happened

 

The two teams combined for a total of 10 shots in the first half, but neither side was able to find the back of the net. Hoffelner collected three saves, and Clement Vannier nearly scored with a hard shot in the 44th minute.

 

NC State's Gabriel Machado took a loose rebound and broke the deadlock with a goal in the 54th minute, while Cjay Sparks put the match away with a goal in the 86th minute to make it 2-0.
