Wrestling Heads to Louisville on Sunday in SoCon Action

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's wrestling team gets set to begin its 2021 season on Sunday with a tri-dual beginning at 10 am against The Citadel before a match against Bellarmine at 2 pm.

About the Dual

The Blue Hose are set to open the 2021 season on Sunday with a conference tri-dual in Louisville against SoCon newcomer Bellarmine. The Blue Hose will also face The Citadel.
PC's regular season was delayed a week due to COVID-19 protocol postponing the Blue Hose trip to VMI to face the Keydets and Campbell.

About the Bulldogs

The Citadel enters with a 2-2 mark following a conference split last weekend as the Bulldogs dropped a tight 17-15 decision to Chattanooga before bouncing back with a 32-9 win over Gardner-Webb.
Michael McAleavey was selected to the preseason all-conference team in the heavyweight weight class and is 7-1 throughout the 2020-21 season.

About the Knights

Bellarmine enters winless in four duals so far in 2021 which included a 27-16 setback against Davidson and a 45-0 defeat against Appalachian State in conference action.
Eric Beck and Devan Hendricks each have earned a pair of wins in the Knights first four matches of the season.

2021 SoCon Schedule

The 2021 SoCon schedule will be contested over four weekends featuring three-team pods each weekend with each of the conference schools wrestling twice in each of the four weekends.

Last Time Out

Sunday will be the first time that the Blue Hose have been in action since last March at the SoCon championship that saw Reid Stewart and Austin Stith each earn a victory for PC.

The Blue Hose head up the mountainside to Boone on Sunday January 31st for a SoCon tri-dual against Appalachian State and Chattanooga. The matchup with the Mocs is set for an 11 am start followed by a 5 pm match with App State.
