CLEVELAND, Ga. – Nearing the end of a two-week break out of competition to account for the holidays, the Presbyterian College men's wrestling squad will be back in action tomorrow evening for their third dual of the fall and second straight head-to-head meeting, this one against the Bears of Truett McConnell in the Peach State. The first of ten standard grapples on hand is scheduled for approximately 7:00 p.m. at the Harris Athletic Complex.
Beginning to build some substantial momentum over the first month of the 2022-23 campaign, the Blue Hose were last seen dishing out a one-sided dual W against Queens in Charlotte back on November 19, scooping up a 37-6 decision behind eight individual wins. Tomorrow night in Cleveland, PC searches for a third consecutive victory against TMU, having beaten the Bears handily on two prior occasions. The last instance of a head-to-head in the series occurred last December, a 37-7 Presbyterian result in Clinton.
Among the many youthful contributors to Director of Wrestling
Mark Cody's club, sophomore
Malcolm Wiley continued his individual tear as of late in the blowout over the Royals by putting together his fifth win in a row across the 197-lb. group. The second-year Georgia native enters Friday's contest sporting his second winning streak of at least four matches, gathering an overall record of 9-2 since the start of the campaign on Nov. 6.
True freshman
Ryan Luna comes into the weekend with the second-highest efficiency rating on the roster going solely off of individual record, slotting back-to-back 6
th-place finishes at the Princeton Open and Citadel Open just over a week removed from one another. Alongside Wiley's pinfall win against Queens,
Reed Douglass,
William Leonard,
Trenton Dominguez,
Jacob Brasseur,
Eli Holiday,
Brandon Jacoby, and
Cordel Duhart all picked up a W versus the Royals, the latter grabbing a technical fall in the first appearance of his freshman stint.
Competing in three multi-team events beside a pair of duals against Thomas Moore and Life earlier this month, Truett McConnell has yet to pick up a one-on-one win through those two outings after a 6-14 mark last year. Following last winter's 21-point victory from the Blue Hose, TMU would go on to claim five out of their final six duals during the regular season before finishing in 3
rd place through the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament.
