FARMVILLE, Va. – Sophomore Jillian Hewes connected on her fifth homer of the season but an eight-run fourth derailed the Presbyterian College softball team on Saturday as Longwood earned a 12-1 win over the Blue Hose.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Longwood got out to the early 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the opening inning on Saturday
- The Lancers added a pair of runs in the second to push the advantage to 4-0 after two frames.
- Hewes opened the fourth with a solo homer to cut the deficit to three, 4-1 after 3.5 innings.
- Longwood quickly answered with an eight-run frame in the fourth to push the lead out to 12-1 victory on Saturday afternoon.
