ALBANY, N.Y. – After a one-off in the bracket system the prior weekend, the Presbyterian College men's wrestling squad returns to a dual format on Friday evening near the Big Apple, traversing north to Albany where they'll throw their name in the hat at the "Arm Bar at the Armory" starting at 6:30 PM.
PC will go head-to-head against the likes of Sacred Heart and Northern Colorado consecutively at the neutral venue, a multi-team event where the Blue Hose will look to impress on another unique stage.
The Armbar at the Armory will showcase eight universities and eight matches altogether, including second-ranked NC State whom Presby locked horns with on the opening night of the 2023 campaign.
Virginia, Binghamton, Buffalo, and Long Island will also be on hand for various meshes between them, while the Blue Hose take on the Bears and Pioneers each for the first time in the program's brief history.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
- PC's opposition tomorrow has veered toward opposite directions during the infant stages of the 2023-24 slate, facing an SHU club that is still searching for its first W but then a UNC unit that has ferociously earned a 2-0 resume.
- Sacred Heart was unable to best either Long Island or Bloomsburg back on November 11, falling by margins of 18 and 10 respectively, most recently visiting Pennsylvania for the Journeyman Classic last Sunday. They'll face NC State after tangling with Presby, collecting 28 points through their first pair of duals.
- Northern Colorado, on the flip side of the coin, has seen virtually no resistance in overpowering victories against Fort Hays State (47-4) and New Mexico Highlands (50-0), meeting Buffalo prior to the Blue Hose feature. The Bears have outgained their adversary by an added difference of 97-4 through two meets, making for another intriguing challenge for head coach
Mark Cody's roster.
LAST TIME OUT
- Held scoreless against the Wolfpack in the opener, Presbyterian transitioned to the tournament setting last Saturday in Boone, North Carolina for the Mountaineer Invitational (an event hosted by fellow Southern Conference rep Appalachian State).
-
Ryan Luna,
Eli Holiday,
Brandon Jacoby,
Michael Ramirez,
Reed Douglass,
Caleb Roe,
George Hopkins, and
Morvens Saint Jean all hit the mats at the same site where the SoCon Championships will be held in March.
- Roe established a fourth-place nod in the 184-lb. weight class, while Luna grabbed his first win of the semester over Gardner-Webb's Tyler Lamon elsewhere (a 15-0 technical fall in the 133-lb. group).
- Coach Cody's crew still sits with a lengthy series of road meetings ahead, in the process of seven in a row outside of their home base. They'll remain the visiting party until January 14, competing six times in Clinton altogether.
