DAVIDSON, N.C. – In their final attempt at a Southern Conference regular season victory on Friday night in the Tar Heel State, the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team was unsuccessful against their Carolina border rivals, dropping a 42-0 decision to Davidson on the road.
The Blue Hose were only a few seconds away from turning the tables on more than one occasion in their '24 closer, losing five of the eight bouts that took place by standard three-period fare.
Davidson was able to eke out a 2-1 triumph in the 133-lb. meeting, an 11-8 barnburner in the 184-lb. contest, and a 4-1 result in the heavyweight tussle. The Wildcats picked up one pin, one technical fall, and one MD while Presby was forced to forfeit a pair of matches due to injury complications.
Now at 3-15, Presbyterian will look to regroup with the SoCon Tournament now on the horizon. That postseason bracket is set for March 9, with the seedings for all 10 classes publicly announced three days before the tourney.

- Head coach
Mark Cody's club will aim to send a competitor to the NCAA Championships for the first time in school history at the SoCon Tournament in Boone, North Carolina. One can achieve that path by winning the conference title in the double-elimination bracket, or an at-large bid is also possible depending on the athlete's performance.
- The National Championship event is contested over a period of three days from March 21-23, held in Kansas City, Missouri. All nine SoCon schools will be represented in the league tournament in just over two weeks, with the goal of staying alive at the forefront.
