CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – A team-best eighth individual win on the season from sophomore
Caleb Roe was able to momentarily halt the run from the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team's Chattanooga opponent on Friday night, although every other bout went the way of the home side in a 47-4 result from Tennessee.
The Mocs zoomed out of the gates for a 14-point cushion in the early going, stopped only slightly thanks to Roe's victory – a 19-6 major decision against Logan Webster.
Once the Alabama native was able to get the Blue Hose on the board, the rest of the blue and garnet lineup was unable to follow suit and instead witnessed a match-closing 33-point flurry to run away with the contest.
The 10
th win of the campaign for Chattanooga and fourth already in a Southern Conference setting, Presbyterian misfired down the stretch of the league meeting while also forfeiting three of the last four contests that were scheduled.
PC now falls to 0-3 in SoCon appearances, hoping to shake off Friday's defeat with a quick turnaround back to Clinton. They'll host Gardner-Webb on Senior Day just 48 hours from now, honoring Micharl Ramirez and
Malcolm Wiley in a pre-match ceremony at Templeton Gymnasium.
