CLINTON, S.C. – Emerging from their seven-week slumber last week in a one-sided thrashing over St. Andrews, the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team gets back to a steady schedule this weekend by competing on Friday, Sunday, and Monday.
Head coach
Mark Cody's club will host Air Force in a first-time-ever meeting on Friday at 11:00 AM, followed by a return to Southern Conference territory on Sunday with a second home bout versus The Citadel.
Just 24 hours after facing the Bulldogs at Templeton Gymnasium, the Blue Hose will venture to Boone on Monday as the SoCon path rages on against Appalachian State.
After sending three wrestlers to the Southern Scuffle in Tennessee earlier this month, PC turned to a dual-only schedule for the rest of the season, including a midweek blowout over St. Andrews last week by a 45-9 tally.
The Scotsmen will look for a statement victory over Air Force at lunchtime tomorrow and try to reach the win column in league territory two days later when The Citadel comes calling.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT – AIR FORCE
- An affiliate member of the Big 12, the Falcons will make the trek from Colorado Springs to Clinton with a mixed bag of results so far in 2025. Head coach Sam Barber's unit sits at 2-5, with each of those losses coming against conference foes.
- Air Force has yet to defeat a Division I opponent in Barber's 11
th season with the program (earning their two wins over Vanguard and CSU Pueblo), facing stiff competition such as #19 Oklahoma, #4 Oklahoma State, and #12 South Dakota State.
- The Academy has only entered double digits once over their five L's, falling by an average of 28 points in a stout division.
- Only three of Presby's all-time past opponents are located further west than the Falcons, an institution that is well over 1,500 miles away from the Palmetto State.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT – THE CITADEL
- After sparring with Air Force on Friday, PC will head back into the SoCon fold versus The Citadel, an adversary they have yet to vanquish in six prior attempts.
- When the Bulldogs last came to Clinton in 2023, the result read 31-11 in their favor. Things got out of hand quickly in Charleston 11 months ago, a 50-0 final score that similarly favored The Citadel.
- A former assistant at App State, head coach Ryan LeBlanc has his squad at 4-3 heading into a Friday feature against Davidson. All of their victories have been by a wide margin, downing Sacred Heart by 38, Hofstra by 22, Limestone by 56, and Morgan State by 40.
- Thus far, The Citadel's lone Southern Conference affair was a 31-3 setback at home to multi-time league champ ASU back on January 12.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT – APPALACHIAN STATE
- Speaking of the Mountaineers, Presbyterian will turn right around and travel to North Carolina to face that very enemy on Monday evening. A powerhouse in the SoCon, App State already owns a pair of divisional wins, the other being a 40-6 dissection of VMI pre-Christmas.
- Although head coach JohnMark Bentley's gang has the same amount of total losses as wins (three), each of those losses has come against a top-25 school (#6 NC State, #19 West Virginia, and #11 Virginia Tech).
- They rebounded from that 19-point loss to the Hokies by smashing the Duke Blue Devils in Boone, 45-5.
- Presby will be in search of their first-ever win against the defending conference tournament champions and a program that has accumulated 144 victories over the past 15 years to go along with seven league regular season titles.
