CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian Blue Hose men's wrestling team battled all the way to the end before coming up just short in a 21-20 loss against the Campbell Camels on the USS Yorktown Battleship in Charleston, South Carolina, on Saturday afternoon.
Presbyterian put the first points on the board after freshman
Dallas Canoyer won at the 125 weight class due to a forfeit.
Campbell cut into the PC lead after winning at 133. The Blue Hose increased their lead to 13-4 after senior
Ryan Luna won by major decision (11-1) at 141 and redshirt sophomore
Matt Rodriguez posted a winning decision (4-2) at 149.
Campbell posted wins at 157, 165, and 174 to take a 15-13 lead. Senior
Reed Douglass won by major decision (14-6) at 184 to cut Campbell's lead to 18-17. Campbell won at 197, pushing their lead to 21-17. Senior
Morvens Saint Jean posted a winning decision (8-1) at 285, but the Blue Hose would come up just short in a 21-20, tightly contested loss.
