CLINTON, S.C. – In just the second-ever encounter of any sport between Presbyterian College and Cal Baptist, the Blue Hose men's wrestling team was stymied by the Lancers on Monday evening in a 42-3 result.
The west coast visitors jumped out to a 15-0 advantage with three straight technical falls and wound up winning the last six bouts for a lopsided finish.
True freshman
Yanik Simon managed to grab a 6-3 decision in the 165-pound match, the lone win by PC in 10 attempts.
The Blue Hose are now 0-2 in dual territory, also falling just short versus Campbell last month on the deck of a military aircraft carrier in Charleston.
Monday was the beginning of a busy week for head coach
Mark Cody's crew, as they'll stay in Templeton Gymnasium on Thursday for a series of three duals with Davidson, Air Force, and Franklin & Marshall.
Presby will go up against the Wildcats at 9:00 AM sharp to start the quad-dual, the second SoCon affair of the season thus far.
