LIVE RESULTS: Track Wrestling
SCOUTING DAVIDSON
- Presbyterian has already one Southern Conference excursion behind them (a slim one-point defeat to Campbell on the deck of a military aircraft carrier), facing a Wildcat foe who has yet to play a league match yet.
- Davidson has been on the losing end of a few lopsided results against quality opponents such as North Carolina, Purdue, and Rutgers, although they were successful in their last venture against Morgan State (43-8).
- PC also hosted the Wildcats last season, losing 27-13 despite a four-minute pin by heavyweight
Morvens Saint Jean.
SCOUTING AIR FORCE
- Crossing a couple time zones during a 1,500-mile flight to Clinton, Air Force will be in Templeton for the second straight year. They handled the Blue Hose last January by a 41-3 differential, as then-senior
Eli Holiday picked up a 10-8 decision midway through.
- The Falcons already have experience against two other SoCon institutions this winter, outlasting The Citadel 23-12 but falling to Gardner-Webb on the same day 20-18.
- Air Force was beaten by #5 Oklahoma State in their most recent dual, although heavyweight Rylan Kuhn picked up the 285-pound championship at a Cal State Bakersfield tournament two days later.
SCOUTING FRANKLIN & MARSHALL
- Another frequent opponent of Presbyterian, Franklin & Marshall comes to Clinton all the way from Pennsylvania. The Diplomats have played almost entirely in tournaments thus far, entering five brackets and just one dual.
- That one dual was profitable for F&M, knocking off Long Island at home by a 27-11 count. They were last seen at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas, finishing 19
th out of 30.
- Head coach Mike Rogers' club also earned top-ten placements at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial and the Keystone Classic in Philadelphia.
LAST TIME OUT
- PC went head-to-head with Cal Baptist earlier this week, able to win just one out of nine matches (165-pounder
Yanik Simon was the lone victor).
- Simon – a true freshman – secured a 6-3 decision in his bout, although the Blue Hose would drop the final six contests after that.
- Outside of dual territory, Presby has been highlighted by senior
Ryan Luna (133/141) who reached 6
th at a Virginia Tech bracket and also 3
rd at the Mountaineer Open last month (held at Appalachian State).
- Saint Jean also nabbed a bronze finish at the App State tourney.
