NORMAN, Okla. – Presbyterian College men's golfer
Spence Hagood was named
Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Hagood is the sixth Blue Hose golfer to earn All-America Scholar honors in the program's history. The team was recognized for their excellence in the classroom by earning the Platform Golf Team Academic Award.
To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically and athletically and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds and have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I.
TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD
For the ninth consecutive season, the Blue Hose garnered the Platform Golf Team Academic Award given out by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
To earn the team award, a team must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2024-25 academic year. As a team, the Blue Hose posted a 3.28 GPA for the 2024-25 academic year.
SPENCE HAGOOD
This past season, Hagood played an integral role in helping the Blue Hose finish fourth after stroke play at the Big South Championship to earn a spot in the match-play final four. He competed in all ten tournaments that the Blue Hose played in. He finished tied for tenth at the Irish Creek Collegiate. For the season, he recorded a 73.8 strokes per round average while shooting a season-low round of 69 in the second round of the Elon Phoenix Invitational.
The Greenwood, South Carolina native has a 3.38 GPA, majoring in Business Administration. Â
