DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College men's wrestling team encountered the Brown Bears and the Lock Haven Bald Eagles back-to-back on Friday afternoon at a neutral venue, ultimately succumbing to both by respective scores of 40-10 and 53-0.
It was a difficult outcome for the Blue Hose, who were wrestling at the home base of Southern Conference rival Davidson. Before the Lock Haven shutout, PC grabbed three wins in the opening dual from
Fernando Dominguez,
Reed Douglass, and freshman
Ryan Mann.
In Mann's case, Friday represents his first collegiate victory after appearing in one tournament prior. He achieved that footnote with a 6-3 tally, leading the way for Douglass to take a 16-7 MD two matches later.
Unfortunately for head coach
Mark Cody's group, though, they were unsuccessful in 13 of the 16 non-forfeited bouts across the doubleheader.
It will be a quick turnaround for the Blue Hose, who are back in action again on Sunday to continue the SoCon schedule and wrestle one final out-of-conference contest.
In under 48 hours, PC travels to Louisville to meet Bellarmine at 2:00. Although, they will first face Sacred Heart at 10:00 AM.
