Blue Hose Begin Campaign Versus Coker in Round-Robin Format

CLINTON, S.C. – The 2026-27 season has arrived for the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team, starting a fresh slate on Sunday against Division II Coker inside Templeton Gymnasium.

Instead of an ordinary dual between PC and the Cobras in 48 hours, the event will follow a "Round Robin" formula where most if not all competing wrestlers will appear four times.

There will be two mats assembled to house the action. Bouts will begin at approximately 11:00 AM and live results will be posted via Track Wrestling.

SCOUTING THE COBRAS

- Led by head coach Noah Korenoski, Coker will go up against the Blue Hose for the first time ever. The Cobras will travel to UNC Pembroke for tournament play prior to their PC visit.

- Two Coker wrestlers made a dent in their attempt to qualify for the Division II National Championships, most notably 133-pounder Daiyan Heard who made the semifinals at the Regional bracket.

- Heavyweight Hunter Miller also made his way through multiple rounds in the loser's bracket but couldn't quite advance back into a podium finish.

- Of the 36 wrestlers on Coker's roster, 20 of them are native to the state of South Carolina. Furthermore, they have 19 underclassmen throughout their lineup.

2025-26 RECAP

- Presbyterian was unable to secure a win in dual competition last season, ending with an 0-8 mark against Southern Conference opponents.

- A bright spot for the Scotsmen was 184-pounder Reed Douglass, who went undefeated individually in league play and became the second wrestler in school history to make it to a conference title match.

- Seeded number two in the SoCon tourney, Douglass won two straight standard-decision matches against Davidson and Campbell by a combined margin of 17-12. He was then defeated by the #1 seed Tomas Brooker from Appalachian State by a 12-3 clip.

- Head coach Mark Cody brings back 19 wrestlers from last year's club. Douglass, Joseph Morris, and Joshua Roe are the lone returners who competed in at least 15 matches last season.

- After the Blue Hose finish their Round Robin tournament against Coker, they will endure a two-month road swing with three SoCon matches involved during that span. They'll make their Templeton return on January 17 to face the Virginia Cavaliers.
