CLINTON, S.C. – Just two duals remain for the Presbyterian College men's wrestling team until the Southern Conference Tournament next month, getting home-court advantage for both of those encounters. On Thursday, the Blue Hose will entertain Gardner-Webb for a 7:00 start.
ESPN+ will have live coverage of tomorrow's match as PC searches for some late-season momentum. They'll go up against a crew that edged out Bellarmine in their most recent SoCon effort.
Eight Presbyterian seniors will be recognized in a pre-match ceremony:
Brayden Adams,
Fernando Dominguez,
Trenton Donahue,
George Hopkins,
Brandon Jacoby,
Ryan Luna,
Morvens Saint Jean, and
Joshua Williams.
That group has combined for 86 individual wins over their time at PC. They'll try to repeat the victory over G-W from their freshman season when Presby downed the Runnin' Bulldogs by a single point.

SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
- Facing some stout non-conference opponents that included such schools as Michigan State, Duke, Maryland, and Air Force, the Runnin' Bulldogs hold a current record of 5-11.
- Gardner-Webb split their first two SoCon matches, falling to Chattanooga and rebounding to defeat Campbell one week later (25-17).
- Head Coach Daniel Elliott's club went through a bit of a rough patch in the league schedule, losing back-to-back close ones to Davidson and The Citadel. However, they shifted back to the win column on Sunday by toppling Bellarmine.
- Initially ahead 16-5 before the Knights took four straight bouts, G-W needed a victory from heavyweight Josh McCutchen in the last outing and they got just what they were hoping for: an 8-2 standard decision that won the overall dual by a smidge.
LAST TIME OUT
- It was a forgettable outcome for the Blue Hose when they went head-to-head with UTC over the weekend, wrestling for the first time in nearly three weeks due to weather-related delays and getting blanked 52-0.
- PC has been held to single digits in each of their last five attempts, although a bright spot has been the play of 184-pounder
Reed Douglass who sits at 5-0 in SoCon affairs.
- Presbyterian achieved their first-ever Southern Conference win in February of 2023, trailing to Gardner-Webb by three points before the heavyweight round and utilizing a 13-1 major decision to instantaneously win the dual.
- Since then, however, the Runnin' Bulldogs have registered two straight lopsided wins over the Blue Hose: 54-0 in Clinton and 39-7 in Boiling Springs.
