CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's wrestling team was unable to achieve their first Southern Conference win on Monday afternoon despite some individual success, falling to VMI in the 2026 finale by a 32-13 final count.

The loss makes PC 0-14 overall and 0-8 in league contests. They'll put their best foot forward in the SoCon Tournament less than two weeks from now, headed to Asheville for the postseason.

Presby led at three different stages during the dual (which was originally scheduled for February 1 until a snowstorm intervened), getting two technical falls by Reed Douglass and heavyweight Ryland Whitworth.

Douglass defeated Andrew Barford by a 22-5 clip, completing a full season where he never lost a conference match (7-0).

Whitworth made his first appearance for the Blue Hose and immediately impressed, downing Drake Garrison by 16 to give his squad a two-point lead after four bouts.

Rookie Jayden Morris gave Presbyterian a 13-12 advantage in the team score by edging out Kyle Gibson, although the Keydets ended the affair with 20 unanswered points.

VMI improves to 6-0 all-time against PC, finding a four-minute fall in class 149 that effectively put the dual out of reach.
