Adidas / Game One Student-Athlete of the Week: Emilia Lieber

CLINTON, S.C. – Helping the Presbyterian College women's soccer team begin the 2026 campaign at 2-0 with a penalty-kick goal versus Newberry last Friday, senior striker Emilia Lieber has been selected as the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week.

A native of Germany, Lieber manufactured her third career goal in just the 6th minute of Presby's home opener to defeat their old Division II rivals from just down the road. The Blue Hose would ultimately win by a 2-0 clip.

Earning the PK opportunity due to a Newberry handball, it went down as the second game-winner of Lieber's career. Presby has now outscored their opponents 5-1 to begin head coach Matt Smith's third season at the helm.

Lieber POTW

LIEBER LIGHTS THE WAY

- Now with eight career points and over 2,500 minutes of playing time, Lieber put PC on top in the early moments where they remained thanks to a shutout on the defensive end.

- Lieber was also responsible for the game-winning goal in the 69th minute of a road victory over Wofford during the first match of her sophomore year.

- Partly due to her penalty kick (where she beat out a reigning All-South Atlantic Conference keeper), the Blue Hose are now the only team in the Big South who do not have either a tie or an outright loss on their resume.

- All three of Lieber's shot attempts in 2026 have fallen on-target. She and sophomore Maddie Smith have conjured up PC's two game-winning goals in the infant stages of the season.

LOOKING AHEAD

- Starting a four-match road swing that will last nearly three weeks, Presbyterian ventures over 1,400 miles for their next two contests against North Dakota and North Dakota State.

- They'll visit UND on Thursday for a 4:00 EST start time, what will be the first-ever matchup between the two universities.

- The non-conference affair will be streamed on the Midco Sports Summit League Network, with North Dakota beginning 0-2 after falling to both Minnesota and Green Bay.

GAME ONE

- The Presbyterian College athletic department partnered with Game One - an official team dealer for Adidas - on a multi-year apparel agreement in November of 2022. PC's partnership with Adidas began in 2015 to outfit the Blue Hose athletic programs.

- Game One is among the country's largest and fastest-growing sports equipment and apparel suppliers, serving a loyal customer base of 13,000 schools and organizations in 38 states.
