Biography

2024: Was unable to compete as a senior due to a preseason injury.

2023: Started 12 contests while appearing in 26 overall, seeing time in the outfield and in the designated player spot...Connected on nine hits as a junior next to a trio of walks, going four-of-five in the box during victories over IUPUI (Feb. 17) and Cornell (Feb. 26)...Batted in a pair of runs while scoring two herself on the year, the second of which came in a road win against Winthrop (April 15).

2022: Appeared in 41 bouts across her sophomore stint in Clinton, starting 31 of them at the rightfield position...Registered 14 runs next to 18 hits when at the plate, totaling 23 bases...Launched a double in back-to-back games against Gardner-Webb in April, scoring three times on a 4-for-7 showing across those two contests...Sailed her first collegiate homer versus Hampton (March 20), bringing in two scores in the fourth frame as part of a 9-8 victory for the Blue Hose.

2021: Played in 11 games and earned six starts across four positions, 3B (2), LF (2), RF (1) and DP (1) ... Singled in her first official collegiate at-bat and picked up her first career stolen base on Opening Day against Columbia International ... Knocked in her first two runs as a collegian with a two-run single and scored for the first time in her collegiate career in a win at North Carolina A&T.

High School: Batted .578 with 16 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 19 RBIs as a junior in 2019 … Selected to the All-Region Team … Also a member of the varsity golf team … Was a member of the Student Council, Beta Club, Interact Club and Junior Leadership Pickens County … Served as student body President … Attended Palmetto Girls State.

Personal: Sara Bailey Watkins was born in Greenville, S.C., to John and Kristi Watkins … Uncle, Geno Gosnell, played baseball at PC from 1997-2001 … Chose PC because of the opportunity to get an excellent education close to home … Intends to major in Occupational Therapy and wants to become an occupational therapist who specializes in special needs.
