Kali Jones recently completed her first season as an assistant coach with the PC softball program. She joined the program in January of 2021.
In Jones' first season with the program, Presbyterian notched seven Big South wins, its most since 2017. The Blue Hose also picked up their first two Big South Freshman of the Week awards, with Jillian Hewes and Kaitlyn Tucker becoming the first two PC players to ever earn the award. Following the season, Tucker also earned a spot on the league's All-Freshman Team.
Jones joined the Blue Hose after spending one season with the South Carolina softball program as a graduate assistant. While at USC, she assisted with the hitters and the team’s defense. The Gamecocks went 17-6 and were ranked as highly as 15th in the NFCA Coaches Poll before the season was halted due to COVID-19 concerns.
From 2016-19, Jones played in 196 games, starting 174, at UNCW. During her four-year career with the Seahawks, Jones owned a .259 batting average and a .368 on-base percentage. She drew 79 walks, the second-most in program history, and her .368 on-base percentage, 72 runs scored and 33 stolen bases all ranked inside the top-20 in Seahawk history. Jones was also a recipient of the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award on several occasions.
Jones graduated from UNCW in 2019 with bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Exercise Science. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina.
