Siara Shelton is set to begin her second season as an assistant coach with the Presbyterian College softball program in 2020-21, having joined the staff in January of 2020.
In Shelton's first season, the Blue Hose posted a five-win improvement over the prior campaign, despite the season getting cut short prior to the beginning of conference play. PC's .667 winning percentage (16-8) was on pace to be the best in the program's DI era. Shelton worked primarily with the Blue Hose catchers, who aided a Presbyterian staff which led the Big South in ERA (2.02), opponents' batting average (.187) and shutouts (9). The 2.02 ERA ranked 30th nationally, while the nine shutouts tied for eighth.

Shelton arrived at PC after spending the 2019 season as a graduate assistant with the Coker softball program. While with the Cobras, she assisted with the infield, offense, creating strength and conditioning workout plans, recruiting and organizing prospect camps. In her lone season with the program, the Cobras collected 31 wins, reached the semifinals of the SAC Championship and made their second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Shelton played collegiately for four seasons at Limestone, primarily as a third baseman and catcher. As a senior in 2018, she was selected Second Team All-Conference Carolinas.

The Westminster, S.C., native earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in sport performance and physical activity studies from Limestone in 2018. She earned a Master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Coker in 2019.
