Columb Knight

Columb Knight, a 2024 graduate of Presbyterian College, completed his first season as his alma mater's head women's golf coach. He was promoted to head coach after serving as the interim head coach during the 2024-25 season.

In Knight's first year as permanent head coach, Presbyterian recorded three top-five finishes as a team during the 2025-26 season, highlighted by a runner-up result at the Fripp Island Intercollegiate. Sloane Spessard posted the first two top-10 finishes of her collegiate career at the Tot Hill Farm Invitational and at Fripp Island. Maddie Peake delivered a career week at Fripp Island, coming in third place. PC had strong showings at the Rivertowne Intercollegiate and at the Oyster Shuck Match Play, finishing fifth in both events. Taylor Reaves earned postseason All-Big South honors, claiming a spot on the Big South All-Academic Team for the third straight season.

As interim head coach, Knight guided the Blue Hose through a competitive slate that featured nine tournaments and a match play event. The team earned multiple top-10 finishes, highlighted by a ninth-place result at the Elon Invitational and a seventh-place showing at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate. Taylor Reaves turned in the team's top individual finish with a tie for fourth at the Fripp Island Intercollegiate, while Sofia Carles also delivered a top-10 performance during the year. Under Knight's leadership, the program showed progress across the lineup, with five members of the roster recording at least one round of 74 or better.

During Knight’s four-year career as a golfer at Presbyterian College, he achieved numerous milestones that have solidified his place in the record books. His career stroke average of 74.93 ranks seventh in PC’s Division I era. Notably, his 73.00 stroke average during the 2023-24 season stands as the third-best in the school's DI history. Knight also delivered a strong performance at the 2023 Big South Preview, securing a sixth-place finish with a two-round score of 142 (73, 69).
