Rob Lane

Rob Lane is in his second season as an assistant coach and his fourth season as a member of Presbyterian's coaching staff after spending his first two seasons at Presbyterian as the program's Director of Basketball Operations.

In his three seasons at Presbyterian, the Blue Hose have earned two postseason tournament berths with back-to-back trips to the CBI (2024, 2025). He has coached three All-Big South selections and three Big South All-Freshman team honorees. The Blue Hose also began the 2023-24 season with a road victory at SEC foe Vanderbilt. In the 2024-25 season, the Blue Hose recorded seven Big South Conference wins, which was tied for the fourth most Big South wins in school history. Presbyterian earned the fifth seed in the Big South Tournament, which was the highest Big South Tournament seed in the program’s history. In 2025, Presbyterian was recognized for its hard work in the classroom by earning the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the first time in school history.

Lane came to Presbyterian after spending the 2021-22 season as an assistant basketball coach at Sarah Lawrence College. At Sarah Lawrence, he helped with skill development as well as opponent scouting and creating game plans. He played an integral role in helping the Gryphons make their third straight postseason appearance.

Before Sarah Lawrence, Lane was a graduate assistant at his alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh, from 2019-21. In that role, he assisted with day-to-day operations, video scouting and analytics, skill development, and on-campus recruiting. At Pitt, he played a role in the development of All-American Justin Champagnie.

As an undergraduate at Pitt, he was a four-year manager with the men’s basketball program. In 2019, the White Plains, New York native graduated from Pittsburgh with a degree in communications and a minor in sociology.

Lane and his wife, Bailee, were married in May of 2025, and they reside in Fountain Inn, South Carolina.
