Huff Flashes As Big Scorer

Furman After Slow Start Rallies Into Old-Time Form For Zippy Second Half

Charley Wilson's Passing Bright Redeeming Feature for Presbyerians

Playing their last home game of the season, Furman's Indoor Hurricane advanced to within one step of another undisputed state championship by sweeping aside the formidable Presbyterian College quintet in the Furman gymnasium last night 47 to 21.

Although badly off form the Purple Pointers rallied in the last half to exhibit some fine basketball. The first half, slow and uninteresting ended 15-10, with Furman in the lead.

Captain Dorman started the scoring with a well placed shot from the foul line. Hardly had the cheers resounded when Caldwell put the Blue Stockings in the running by sinking a free shot. The first twelve minutes found the score 7-6 with Furman holding the scant margin. At this point of the game Coach Norman sent Gibson and Burts in to the relief of Huff and Byrne who were still suffering from the Carolina complex. Gibson with his spectacular dribbling and passing kept the Purple Pointers in the lead for the remainder of the half.

Wilson, PC ace, opened the second half with a long shot from center, but on the next play Huff started his usual scoring spree and began to sink the two point shots with accuracy. Wilson's passing was the feature of the Blue Stocking offense. The football star by his passing emulated the grid feats of his running mate Jimmie Stamps. Dunlap led the scoring for PC by sinking a total of 15 points.

Only one game remains on the Furman schedule which is nearing a very successful completion. If Furman should breeze over the Wofford Terriers in Spartanburg Saturday night they will have an undisputed claim for the state basketball championship.
