Terriers Jump Ahead at Outset And Are Never Headed in Tilt

Spartanburg, S.C. - Grabbing the lead in the first few seconds of the game on a field goal by rangy Buck Spillers, the scrappy Wofford Terriers swamped the Presbyterian College basketballers, 49-25, last night at the Andrews field house. The Terriers' success was their second over the Clinton Blue Stockings in 5 days.

Approximately 500 fans attended last night's game.

With Charley Seay on another scoring rampage, the Terriers built up a 24-13 advantage before the relaxation period last night and then breezed safely down the stretch with a lineup of frisky reserves.

Melvin (Razor) Gibbs, Louis Mahaffey and Mickey Cooke played stellar defensive basketball for Wofford.

The Blue Stockings were paced by Dan Mungo with 10 points and Forward Logan with 4 units The P.C. defense was led by Guard Rollins and tall speedy center Herb Lindsay.

The Terriers Cagers will go to Newberry College for a game next Tuesday night. The up surging Wofford quint curbed the Indians 41-38 Friday night at the Andrews hardwoods.
