Jones Leads PC In Loss To Radford

CLINTON, S.C.- Big South Conference foe Radford women's team visited their future conference counterparts Presbyterian College on Tuesday night at the Templeton Center, earning a 67-54 win.

The Blue Hose took the lead into halftime at 29-24.

The Blue Hose harassed Radford early, holding the Highlanders to 28 percent from the field in the first half, while frustrating them into committing 11 first half fouls. The Blue Hose cashed in to the tune of 84.6 percent from the free throw line.

Amy Jones (Warthen, Ga.) led the first half charge, turning in eight points, including 6-6 from the charity stripe. She also dished out three assists.
Kaitlin Moore (Fort Mill, S.C.) scored seven points in the first stanza, while pulling down six rebounds.

The opening of the second half saw Radford tie the score at 29 with 17:34 left to play.

Radford would then go on a 13-2 run at around the 16-minute mark to take a 42-34 lead with 12:45 left in the game. The Highlanders would lead by as much as 13 in the second half before earning the victory.

Kelli Darden (Chesapeake, Va.) and Columbia, S.C. native Johnette Walker both scored a game high 21 points for Radford.

Jones led the PC attack with 17 points. Moore contributed 11 points with Lea Smith (Marion, N.C.) rounding out the Blue Hose double figure contributors with 10.
It was the second game of the year against Radford for the Blue Hose. PC visited Radford's Virginia campus on Dec. 28, falling 70- 49 to the Highlanders at the Radford Christmas Classic.

Presbyterian falls to 1-17 for the 2007-2008 campaign, while RU improves to 13-5 on the season.

The Blue Hose next travel to play High Point on Jan. 12.
