GREENVILLE, S.C. ? The Presbyterian College volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision to Furman on Wednesday evening at Alley Gymnasium in Greenville, S.C. The Paladins earned the win in straight sets, 25-15, 25-19, 25-16.
Sophomore Lisa Shelley (Columbia, S.C./Blythewood) had a team-high eight kills in the match while senior setter Rachel Lewis (Bloomington, Ill /Tri-Valley) added 17 assists to extend her lead as PC's all-time leader with 4,776 career assists.
Sophomore libero Elizabeth Heineman (Normal, Ill./Normal Community West) led the defense with a game-high 14 digs. Shelley chipped 10 digs for the second-most on either team.
Senior Justine Lanchester (Downs, Ill./Tri-Valley) recorded two service aces and had the game's only solo block.
Furman (8-7, 1-1 SoCon) registered a .364 hitting percentage in the second set while holding the Blue Hose to a .129 percentage. The Paladins had six team blocks in three sets.
PC (3-10, 0-2 Big South) returns to conference action on Friday when the team travels to Rock Hill, S.C. to face Winthrop.
