CLINTON, S.C.?The Presbyterian College volleyball team defeated the Winthrop Eagles three sets to none in a Big South conference match-up at the Templeton Center. The Blue Hose downed Winthrop 25-20, 25-17, 26-24.

The Blue Hose opened the second set strong and took a 19-9 lead on a kill by Lindsey Harris (Taylors, S.C./Eastside). A kill by Haley Thurmond (Mackinaw, Ill./Deercreek-Mackinaw) gave PC the 25-17 victory in set two.
After the break both teams battled back and forth before Winthrop took a 15-19 lead. A kill by Kettles and back-to-back attach errors by the Eagles brought PC to within one point at 18-19. The Blue Hose took the lead at 21-20 off of a service ace by Kettles, but Winthrop answered with a kill by Shannon Sitzmann. The score would again tie at 23-23 and at 24-24 before PC grabbed the lead again on a service ace, this time by Elizabeth Heineman (Normal, Ill./Normal West). A kill by Lindsey Harris would give the Blue Hose the 26-24 set and match win.
