Blue Hose Lose to Catamounts

CULLOWHEE, N.C.? Presbyterian College's volleyball team dropped its final match of the ?Catamount Clash' in three sets to tournament host Western Carolina on Saturday at the Ramsey Center.

 

The Blue Hose lost 22-25, 17-25, 20-25 against the Catamounts. Sophomore Lisa Shelley (Columbia, S.C./Blythewood) led PC with 13 kills while libero Elizabeth Heineman (Normal Ill./Normal Community West) recorded 17 digs.

 

Senior setter Rachel Lewis (Bloomington, Ill./Tri-Valley) tallied 25 assists to bring her weekend total to 73. The school recordholder in career assists was selected to the ?Catamount Clash' All-Tournament team.

 

PC finished 1-2 on the weekend after picking up a win over Norfolk State and losing to Arkansas State on Friday.  The Blue Hose return to action on Tuesday when they travel to USC Upstate. The team will host its first Big South opponent of 2008 on Friday when Gardner-Webb visits Clinton for PC's home opener.
