CLINTON, S.C.?Presbyterian College volleyball played a close match, pushing High Point to a fourth set, before eventually losing 3-1 to the Panthers on Saturday afternoon at Templeton Center.

PC dropped the first set 25-20, which was highlighted by a 14-1 High Point scoring run. The Blue Hose came back to take the Panthers by storm in the second set and earned a convincing 25-13 victory. PC held High Point to a .107 hitting percentage while recording a .394 percentage of its own in the set. Senior Justine Lanchester (Downs, Ill./Tri-Valley) lead the offense with six kills in the second set.

The Panthers retaliated in the third set and recorded a 25-12 win with a .424 hitting percentage. The fourth set was an offensive onslaught that found the two teams tied at 14 before High Point ended the game with a 25-20 victory. The Panthers tallied 17 kills while the Blue Hose had 16 in the final set.

Lanchester finished the day tied with sophomore Lisa Shelley (Columbia, S.C./Blythewood) as PC's leader in kills with 12. Sophomore Amanda Kettles (Canton, Ga./Cherokee) added 11 kills and three assisted blocks to the offense while sophomore libero Elizabeth Heineman (Normal, Ill./Normal Community West) anchored the Blue Hose defense with 15 digs on the game, the most for either team.

High Point was lead by Big South Player of the Week Lindsay Raus's 13 kills while Ashley Mellott and Audie Gonzalez each chipped in 11 kills.  Gonzalez and Lauren Hatch led the team with 14 digs apiece.

The Blue Hose next travel to Greenville, S.C. to take on Furman on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
