Blue Hose Score Twice Early, but Concede Two Late To Draw UNCA 2-2

Asheville, N.C. ?- After winning the program's first Big South Conference game on Saturday afternoon against Radford the Presbyterian College men's soccer team went in search of its first ever league winning streak against UNC Asheville.? The Blue Hose scored two early goals but conceded two late en route to a 2-2 draw to the Bulldogs.

"Good first half performance by the team today," said head coach Bret Boulware.? "Even though we let them back into the game in the second half, our young squad learned some valuable lessons that will carry us forward through the rest of the season.? We could have scored three points but it's always good to walk away with a point."

The breakthrough came in the 26th minute when Ben Riedmayer got free on a breakaway down the right side.? He buried the shot for his first goal of his three year career with the Blue Hose.? He was assisted by Bobby Keskey, his first of the season.

Ten minutes later in the 36th minute, Michael Czullinski posted his second goal of the season to move into tie for the team lead in goals.? Czullinski confused the goalkeeper and blasted the shot through the keeper's legs and into the goal.?

Even through the Blue Hose ruled the run of play in the first half; shots were tied 7-7 after the first session with PC delivering six on frame to UNCA's two.

The Bulldogs clawed the first goal back in the 65th minute when Zachary Odum got free on a breakaway pass from Bryan George to make the line 2-1.?

Six minutes from time, Jake Hagedorn leveled the match with a shot from 25 yards out to best PC's keeper Andrew Wallingford.

The match was sent to overtime where each team tallied a shot in the pair of extra frames.? The Blue Hose put the only shot on frame in overtime in the second period.?

Wallingford went the distance for PC making seven saves while allowing both goals.? Asheville's Lassi Hurskainen posted an identical line with seven saves in 120 minutes of work.

The Blue Hose will continue their three game road swing on Saturday night with a prime-time matchup against High Point.?
