CONWAY, S.C. - Presbyterian College
surrendered two early goals but fought back to win the second half in a 2-1
defeat against Coastal Carolina on Saturday night in Conway. Davis Orders finished PC's lone goal in the
53rd minute.
PC falls to
1-8-1 on the year and 0-4in the Big South.
Coastal Carolina improves to 6-4-1 with the win and goes to 2-1-0 in
league play.
Coastal
Carolina logged the first three shots of the match with the third finding the
net as Justin Portillo scored in the 14th minute with a shot off a
cross.
The advantage
went to 2-0 in the17th minute when Rodrigo Vianna one-touched the ball into the
net following a cross into space.
The Blue Hose
logged just two shots in the first half as PC went into the halftime break down
2-0.
Seven minutes
after the restart, PC's Davis Orders cut the lead in half when he scored from
inside the six-yard box. A free kick was
played into the box where Logan Huff headed the ball to Orders who coolly
finished the goal. The goal is his
second of the season.
PC would get
two more chances in the second half but could not find the equalizer. The Blue Hose finished the match with five
total shots to Coastal's 16.
James Neal
went the distance in goal for PC making three saves and allowing both goals.
PC hosts
Georgia Southern on Tuesday night to close out fall break. The match starts at 6 p.m. inside Martin
Stadium at Edens Field.
