CLINTON, S.C. -Presbyterian College trailed
by four at half but outscored Coastal Carolina 32-12 in the second half to take
a run-away 52-36 triumph to open Big South play on Monday night inside the
Templeton Center. Kristen Stevens
(Pickerington, Ohio) led all scorers with 12 points on a career-high four
three-point baskets. The victory takes
the Blue Hose on a two-game win streak.
PC moved to
4-8 on the year and 1-0 in the Big South while Coastal drops to 6-7 and 0-1 in the
league.
"I'm extremely
proud of our defensive play in the second half," said head coach Ronny
Fisher. "I challenged the team at
halftime and they responded. We had a
great all-around game tonight and I'm proud to take our first league win of the
year."
Dria David
(Lawrenceville, Ga.) had an impressive night dropping 11 points with eight
rebounds to lead the Blue Hose on the boards.
Fellow guard Karlee Taylor (Asheville, N.C.) notched a career high seven

Out of the
break, the Blue Hose defense stood on its head keeping CCU scoreless until the
11:17 mark when Coastal cut the Blue Hose lead to one point. An old-fashioned three-point play by David
initiated a 15-1 run which was capped by a three-pointer by Stevens.
The Blue Hose
led by as many as 21 in the game inside of three minutes. A late Chanticleer surge cut the final margin
to 16 points as Coastal outscored PC 7-2 in the final two minutes of the game.

with a 39% showing from downtown.
The win gave
PC its second game this year holding the opponent under 40 points. It is also the lowest score for Coastal
Carolina in the series as PC logs its sixth win against CCU in 19 tries.
The Blue Hose
