Presley Mabrey and Caroline Cann both posted double-digit kills to lead the Presbyterian College volleyball team to the 3-1 win over Charleston Southern this evening in Charleston, S.C. The Blue Hose won by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-19 and 25-18
Presbyterian College improves to 10-16 and 4-6 in the Big South, while Charleston Southern falls to 5-21, 1-9. The Blue Hose next travel to Conway, S.C. Saturday, Oct. 29 to face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 2 p.m.
After trading wins in the first two sets, with the Blue Hose winning the first, 25-22, and the Bucs taking the second, 25-22, PC rallied to take the final two sets, 25-19 and 25-18 for their second win in a row by a score of 3-1.
Mabrey led the Blue Hose with 14 kills, including four in each of the winning sets, while Cann followed with 12 kills on the night. Ashtin Frank recorded 37 assists while Mary Trimpe led defensively with 16 digs, five ahead of Cann's 11.
Despite having more errors than Charleston Southern, 29-22, the Blue Hose held the .183 to .109 advantage in hitting percentage. PC had 53 kills, to CSU's 36.
