The Presbyterian College volleyball team fell to Winthrop, 3-0, in its last match of the season. Caroline Cann and Allison Brown led the team with seven kills apiece as the Blue Hose lost by scores of 25-18, 25-14 and 25-19.
PC, which is not eligible to compete in the Big South Tournament until next season as it makes its transition to NCAA Division I, ends its season with a 13-17 overall mark and a team-best 7-7 league record. Winthrop improves to 19-7 and 12-2.
Following Cann and Brown in kills was Rachel Hall, who had six on the night. Total, the team collected 29 kills, but had 23 errors off 111 attacks for a .054 hitting percentage.
Winthrop was led by Brittany Blackman with 11 kills as the Eagles hit 39 total, with just nine errors in 96 attacks for a .312 percentage.
Presley Mabrey and Mary Trimpe posted 12 digs each as the Blue Hose finished with 43 o the night. Winthrop recorded 47, with Stephanie Palmer pacing the team with 12.
