The Presbyterian College men's tennis team dropped just one singles match all day as the Blue Hose defeated Kennesaw State, 5-2, and Young Harris, 7-2, to earn a doubleheader victory today in Young Harris, Ga.
The Blue Hose (3-2) won five of six singles matches against the Owls (3-2), with Andrew Brigham falling to Simon Janik, 6-2, 6-7, 6-2, at number one singles. Brigham and Rafael Berghaus earned the only win at doubles, taking number one 9-7. Grayson Mills and Zachary Sprouse used three sets to earn victories at number two and six singles (6-4, 4-6, 6-2 and 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 respectively).
Several matches against Young Harris (0-4) were close but the Blue Hose were able to take all the singles points in straight sets, the closest a 6-4, 6-3 win by Brigham over Martin Harach.
Young Harris took two of three doubles points with victories at number one and two. Sprouse and Edward Snead took the 8-1 win at number three doubles.
The Blue Hose are back in action Monday Feb. 14 with a 2 p.m. match against The Citadel at home.
