RALEIGH, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball
team dropped the first leg of its final non-conference road trip on Saturday
afternoon at NC State, 76-30.
NC State (7-4) shot 47.1 percent from the floor (32-68) to
push past PC (5-6). The Blue Hose stay on the road for a Monday night game at

State players in double figures. Three players tied for the team lead in
rebounds, collecting six.
NC State came out strong in the first half. The Wolfpack
scored the first four points before Shonda Burnside (Gray Court, S.C.) answered
with four of her own to tie the game in the first 3:23. The home side then went
on a 10-0 run that came to an end by way of a Karlee Taylor (Asheville, N.C.)
three-pointer, one of her two on the day. NC State built on its lead to take a
45-13 lead into the locker room at halftime.

jumper attempt late in the period to get on the stat sheet.
Burnside led the Blue Hose with four points while Noelle
Carter (Neptune, N.J.), Devin Fothergill (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and Burnside
each had two rebounds at the break.

visitors shot an improved shooting percentage and point total over the final 20
minutes. The Blue Hose turned the ball over only six times in the final half,
tying the Wolfpack in that category.
David provided an impressive defensive play with a vicious
swat on a Wolfpack shot midway through frame. The senior guard scored all of
her seven points in the second half and registered a blocked shot as well.

end of the contest for her first career points.
