GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's soccer team dropped a road non-conference match on Friday night as the Furman Paladins downed the Blue Hose, 8-0.
PC moves to 2-2-0 while Furman improves to 3-1-0. The Blue Hose return home to open Big South Conference play as they host Coastal Carolina on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The Paladins converted three goals in the first half and five goals in the second.
Nico Fazio (Roswell, Ga.) led PC with two shots on goal. Mason Lewis (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) tallied a shot on goal in the first half. Ignacio Monchetti (Montevideo, Uruguay) and Cade Crow (Liberty, Mo.) each threatened with a shot.
PC goalkeeper Tyler Beadle (Douglasville, Ga.) made seven saves for the Bleu Hose in 65:03 of action. Tanner Osborne (Lexington, S.C.) saw time as well and Johnny Archer (Charlotte, N.C.) stopped a shot on the night.
Furman's Bobby Edet scored three goals while Lewis Hawke added a pair. Eli Pinner, Marco Ortiz and Dylan Rowe also scored for the Paladins. Sven LIssek, Martin Ontiveros and Even De Ycaza each recorded a pair of assists.
Brett Godwin (Suwanee, Ga.) played all 90 minutes defensively for PC.
