CLINTON, S.C. – Karlee Taylor (Asheville, N.C.) scored her 1,000th career point and connected on a three-pointer to pull the Presbyterian College women's basketball team within one point of the visiting Campbell Camels in the final minute of Saturday's game, but the Camels held on for a 46-43 Big South Conference win.
Taylor's trey cut Campbell's lead to 44-43 with 45 seconds to go and PC immediately called a timeout. The Blue Hose recovered a missed Campbell shot with 10 seconds to go but could not convert and fouled to stop the clock with three seconds left. After two made free throws, the Blue Hose tried in vain to get a shot off with 3.6 seconds left and the Camels took home the narrow victory, 46-43.
PC moves to 4-14 on the year and 2-7 in the Big South. The Blue Hose face a short break as they play at Charleston Southern on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Campbell improves to 10-8 overall, 5-4 in the Big South and will host Winthrop on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Trailing 44-40 with under a minute left, Taylor hit a clutch three-pointer, her fourth of the afternoon, to cut the Campbell lead to one with 42 seconds on the clock. After a PC foul with 3.4 seconds to go, Roslyn Presley hit both free throws to give the Camels the two-point lead. PC had the ball at the end with a chance to tie but didn't quite have enough time, falling by three, 46-43.
After falling behind, 9-2 early in the first half the Blue Hose rallied behind a Taylor three-pointer with eight unanswered to take a brief 10-9 lead with 14:54 left before intermission. Coffer ignited the Campbell offense with back-to-back three-pointers as the Camels retook the lead at 11:27, 17-12.
Allen led PC back to within one with back-to-back baskets of her own as the Blue Hose trailed 16-17 at the 9:16 mark. A back and forth battle ensued the remaining nine minutes with four ties, the last at 23-23 with 1:45 to go before the break.
