Ignacio Monchetti (Montevideo, Uruguay) scored his first goal of the season in the 32nd minute when Mason Lewis (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) touched it to Monchetti after the Gardner-Webb goalkeeper left the net to make a stop. PC held a 2-1 lead at halftime.

Coming back from the break, Dustin Peyton tied it up in the 47th minute when he curled a long-ball from 35 yards out to the far post to score his first goal of the season. Al-Gashamy was credited with the assist on the goal.

Clarke put the Runnin' Bulldogs up 3-2 in the 53rd minute when Al-Gashamy played the ball across to Clarke for him to touch down and finish.

Clarke scored again in the 69th minute when the initial shot was stopped and deflected to him for a curl into the far post to put them up 4-2.

Clarke completed the hat trick in the 87th minute off an over-the-top pass from Nathan Rose to give the hosts a 5-2 victory.

Archer ended the game with seven saves. Gardner-Webb goalkeeper Matthew Swan wrapped up the game with eight saves.
