CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's tennis team won 11 out of 12 singles matches on Saturday in a strong day of tennis, knocking off Kennesaw State, 5-2, and Spartanburg Methodist College, 7-0, on Saturday at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
PC finishes the day at 11-1 and will next play at the College of Charleston on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The wins run the team's win streak to nine straight matches.
PC 5, Kennesaw State 2
The Blue Hose began with a solid win over the Owls of Kennesaw State.
Kennesaw State leapt out to an early lead by taking the doubles point with a close result at No. 2, as Simon Pritchard and Louis Theodor squeaked by for an 8-7 decision.
PC would make up the loss in singles play, however. Diego Manzanas (Madrid, Spain) blew past Alexander Pena at No. 6 in a shutout win, 6-0, 6-0, while fellow freshman Ben Kelley (Weaverville, N.C.) closed the door on David Durham at the fifth flight, 6-4, 6-0.
At the top flight, Grayson Mills (Lilburn, Ga.) bested Simon Pritchard in a 7-6, 6-4 victory as Rafael Berghaus (Offenbach, Germany) was taking down Jorge Wilton at the second flight, 6-4, 6-3.
Freshman Ryan Miller (Norcross, Ga.) rounded out PC's five singles wins by rolling over Louis Theodor at No. 4, 6-1, 6-0.

The day's second dual match saw a bevy of results skewed in the home team's favor as PC grabbed all nine matches for the W.
In doubles, Kelley and Miller blanked Walter Fowler and Dargan Antley at the third flight, 8-0. The other two matches finished with 8-1 scores as Joel Roberts (Summerville, S.C.) and Berghaus won at the top flight and Manzanas and Steven Weaver (Charleston, S.C.) took care of business at No. 2.
Singles action proved another fun exercise for the Blue Hose. Miller and Kelley both won their respective matches at No. 3 and No. 6 by twin 6-0, 6-0 scores over Alex Arkin and Austin Howe. At the fourth and fifth flights, Weaver and Manzanas both toppled their Pioneer opponents with convincing 6-0, 6-1 tallies.
At the top two flights, Mills pushed past Zac Dye in a 6-2, 6-0 win while Berghaus handled Harry Reed, 6-1, 6-1.
