The Presbyterian College men's tennis team split their trip to Atlanta 1-1 with a 9-0 sweep of SCAD Atlanta on Saturday morning and a 5-2 loss to Georgia State on Saturday night.

PC started the day of competition with a 9-0 shutout over SCAD Atlanta.

In doubles action, all three PC teams defeated the Bees by scores of 8-4. Ryan Miller (Norcross, Ga.) and Joel Roberts (Summerville, S.C.) picked up a victory at No. 1 doubles over the No. 1 SCAD Atlanta duo. Alexander Lykou (Aarhus, Denmark) and Lukas Luckemeier (Greven, Germany) also got an 8-4 win in flight 2, as did Steven Weaver (Charleston, S.C.) and Will Baird (Raleigh, N.C.) at No. 3 doubles.   

In singles play, Danny Bruce (Marietta, Ga.) defeated Julian Guzman at No. 1 singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Diego Manzanas (Madrid, Spain) picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles over Chandler Saunders. Alejandro Bejar (Madrid, Spain) won his match at No. 3 singles, 4-0, after a forfeit by injury. Luckemeier won his match at No. 4 singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Baird competed in his first singles match this spring and earned a comeback win at No. 5 singles after losing the first set (6-7, 6-2, 10-7). Weaver also had his first showing of the year with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Denzel Hollis at No. 6 singles.

After a solid morning against the Bees, the Blue Hose were closely defeated by the Panthers later in the evening, 5-2.

Manzanas earned a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles and Bejar picked up a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 victory at No. 6 singles for PC's only points on the night. In doubles competition, Bruce and Brandon Mills (Lilburn, Ga.) won 5-4 at No. 3 doubles, however the Panthers earned wins in the first and second flight to get the doubles point.
