Appalachian State slides past PC

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's soccer team fell to Appalachian State 3-0 Tuesday night at Martin Stadium. The game was PC's final non-conference match of the season.

The Blue Hose fell to 0-10-1 on the season, while the Mountaineers improved to 6-5-0 on the year.

App State found the back of the net in the 15th minute. PC's Johnny Archer blocked the first shot but was deflected to Jamir James who finished his first goal of the season.

The Mountaineers scored again on a penalty by Alex Herbst in the 63rd minute. John Walrath scored his first goal of the season for App State in the 70th minute off a corner kick from Herbst.

The Blue Hose took four shots on the night and put one on frame. John Speed (Decatur, Ga.) led the way with one shot with it on goal.

Archer (Charlotte, N.C.) gathered nine saves in 77:30 minutes of play, while Connor Behrend (St. Simons Island, Ga.) collected three saves in 11:30 minutes of action.

The Blue Hose return to Big South Conference play on Friday at 6 p.m. against Longwood in Farmville, Va.
