Men's Soccer Presbyterian College Athletics

Blue Hose draw High Point 0-0

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Presbyterian College men's soccer team tied High Point 0-0 in double overtime Friday night at Vert Stadium for PC's first point of the season.

The Blue Hose shut out an opponent for the first time since a 1-0 win over Georgia Southern on Oct. 12, 2010 and went to 0-8-1, 0-1-1 in the Big South Conference, while the Panthers went to 3-3-3, 1-0-1 on the season.

PC's last tie also came in the 2010 season on a 1-1 draw at USC Upstate on Sept. 7.

The Blue Hose took four shots on the night and put three of them on frame. John Speed (Decatur, Ga.) led the charge for the Blue Hose with two shots and put both on frame, while Onyemachi Provost (Aiken, S.C.) took one shot with it on target.

Johnny Archer (Charlotte, N.C.) registered nine saves between the posts for PC, the most for a Blue Hose goalie since Connor Behrend (St. Simons Island, Ga.) collected 11 against Liberty last season.

Presbyterian returns home to host No. 4 Coastal Carolina 4 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Stadium.
